Business Ethics

Sophia Learning’s Business Ethics course is for anyone looking forward to a career in business or management. You will first be grounded in ethical theories and learn how these have changed as the world of business has changed throughout history. You will then understand how to identify the various stakeholders in a business and how to weigh their importance in making decisions; consider how corporate social responsibility (CSR) is now as important as profits in how businesses are run and how they are evaluated by investors; and weigh the pros and cons of environmental policy, social influence, and internal governance (ESG) scores to rate companies. Finally, you will view ethics in the context of recent events like the 2020 pandemic, the rise of artificial intelligence, and the shift to remote work and a gig economy in the 21st century. Throughout this course, you will practice making ethical decisions that align with ethical theories and follow a process that not only makes decisions easier to make but also easier to defend.
