Sophia Learning’s Project Management (PM) course provides students with a practical, end-to-end introduction to the project management lifecycle, with expanded focus on the detailed planning and execution activities that drive project success. Students explore core concepts such as project governance, stakeholder engagement, and lifecycle methodologies before diving deeply into planning tools and techniques—defining scope and requirements, developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), estimating resources and durations, building schedules, creating budgets, and preparing procurement and communication plans. The course then guides students through key execution practices, including coordinating project work, leading teams, managing conflict, maintaining quality standards, and applying risk response strategies in real time. Throughout structured lessons, students learn how to monitor performance, manage change, and document outcomes. The course concludes with an overview of professional trends such as AI in project management, collaboration with global teams, and pathways to PM credentials, preparing students to confidently apply modern PM practices in diverse professional environments.
